Originally founded in 1981, Pockets is an entertaining and engaging magazine for kids ages 7-12. Full of games, short stories, wisdom, and inspiration for developing a child's spiritual life, it was a joy to work on. Each issue was designed from the ground up to grab kids' attention— teaching them about other cultures, other kids, scripture, and how to make a positive impact on the world around them.
In 2009, I co-Art Directed a total redesign of the magazine, including a brand-new masthead, modern color palette, and a standardized look across photos and illustration styles. Working with that new look over the next 10 years, I designed the covers and much of the interior of 115 issues!
